and
I have known Miss C.Maclaren for a good many years, she comes of a respectable family. I have had a good deal to do with her of late years as she kindly helped us with our V.A.D. practices as she is a trained Murse, and I know whowdeeply she has longed to go as a Missionary. She has had to stay at home for some years to nurse her old Mother, who died lately, and now that she is free she hopes to get Mission work to do in which her very thorough training as a Nurse will he most valuable, I have always found her
so nice and refined, gentle and kind, I do not know what force of character she has. I see you ask that question but as a Nurse if her influence was good perhaps that is not so essential, but she may have it for all I know. I feel if she could get the right post she would be so anxious to succeed, and happy to work to the very last of her powers. At the present moment I fear ehe is rather perplexed what to do and where to go, as several of my friends more in touch with Kissionary work than I am, have been helping her, and I do not know if they have quite realised what she is best suited for, however, I can only say that all I have seen of her has been much in her favour, and I know she is most deeply religious and that, for years she has longed to go to the Mission field, where as a highly trained Nurse she ought to be most valuable. I think she
